The Alumni and Advancement Office is responsible for philanthropic fundraising and for engagement with La Trobe University’s alumni community (180,000 as at December 2015). The Alumni and Advancement Office is an outwardly facing unit of the University and engagement with stakeholders is a major element of most activities undertaken.

In this role

We are currently seeking an Annual Appeal Senior Officer to fill an exciting opportunity we have in the Alumni and Advancement Office. Reporting to the Advancement Manager (Annual Giving), you will be responsible for supporting the implementation of the annual giving program, including the Award Winning Staff Giving program and monitoring the establishment of processes.

This position is a versatile role that provides an opportunity for an outcomes focused, passionate and results driven individual to be part of a dynamic team and really put your own ‘stamp’ on this role.

Your responsibilities in this position, will include:

  • Provide assistance with the development and delivery of the annual appeals strategy;
  • Analysing data relating to the appeals, tracking the success of annual appeal communication strategies;
  • Working with key stakeholders to develop communication strategies relating to the appeal;
  • Provide regular reporting on all campaigns run throughout the team;
  • Establish processes and procedures in regards to communication around the various campaigns
  • Administration and data entry work will also be required

The candidate

To succeed you will be:

Passionate about your work, highly organised, results driven with a strong focus to attention to detail. You will have strong interpersonal skills, coupled with excellent verbal and written skills. With the demonstrated capacity for exceptional coordination and collaboration you will be able to effectively work independently to manage this multi-faceted role.

You will also possess:

  • Completion of a degree without subsequent relevant work experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated skill in dealing effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Proven capacity to work autonomously as well as collaboratively and cooperatively in small and across diverse teams.
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully coordinating multiple activities concurrently.
  • Demonstrated time management and organisational skills
  • High level proficiency in computer software packages, including the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A working knowledge of Raiser’s Edge database system preferred but not essential.
