Position: Portfolio Manager, Swisscontact Nepal

The incumbent is a representative of Swisscontact displaying courtesy, tact, consideration, and discretion in all interactions with other members of the Project, government agencies, stakeholders, beneficiaries and the public. The Portfolio Manager, Swisscontact Nepal is responsible for supporting the portfolio development of Swisscontact Nepal and the region and backstopping ongoing projects.

Reports to: Country Director, Nepal

Workplace: The workplace is located in Swisscontact country office in Kathmandu, but work may also involve travels within and outside of Nepal.

Qualification, Experience and Competencies

• Advanced degree in management or any other relevant field.
• Excellent communication skills in both English and Nepali (verbal and written).
• Advanced knowledge and working experience of 5 years in the fields of PSD, M4P, MSD and Value Chains.

• Knowledge and experience in the areas of knowledge and content management and quality assurance.
• Ability to conduct independent researches, intelligence gathering and networking.
• Ability to deliver high quality outputs within deadlines in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment.
• Familiarity with DCED standards for MRM in PSD, MSD and M4P programmes is desirable but not required.
• Experience in policy reform and/or business enabling environment is desirable.

Position: Market Manager, CASA, Nepal

The Market Manager will be responsible for the overall planning and implementation of his/her assigned sector, in terms of strategic direction, reporting, budgeting, impact measurement and knowledge management. He/She will be responsible for the analysis of systemic constraints and opportunities in selected sectors/ cross-sectors, district-clusters, and agriculture market systems, as well as for the design and implementation of interventions in the selected sub-sectors/ cross-sectors.

Reports to: Country Manager, CASA, Nepal

Workplace: The workplace is located in the Swisscontact country office in Kathmandu,but work will involve frequent travels within Nepal.

Qualification, Experience and Competencies

• A minimum of 5 years work experience in the field of Market Systems Development (MSD)/Making Markets Work for the Poor (M4P) in agriculture, and/or Value Chain development with a Private Sector Development (PSD) focus.

• Bachelor or higher degree in relevant field. (Advanced degree in Business and/or Economics are preferred.)
• Familiarity with DCED standards for Monitoring and Result Measurement (MRM) in PSD, MSD and M4P programmes.
• Advanced communication skill in both English and Nepali (verbal and written).
• Ability and willingness to work in a team while delivering high quality outputs within a dynamic and fastpaced work environment.
• Passion and commitment to building a career in the development sector.
• Willingness and ability to travel within and outside Nepal.

Position: Finance Officer, CASA, Nepal

Under the supervision of the Country Manager, ensure smooth functioning of Commercial Agriculture for Smallholders and Agribusiness (CASA) programme through proper planning, implementation, coordination and controlling of accounting and finance functions of the project in accordance with Swisscontact’s rules and regulations including donor’s requirements.

Reports to: Country Manager, CASA, Nepal

Workplace:The workplace is located in the Swisscontact country office in Kathmandu, but work will also involve travels within Nepal.

Qualification, Experience and Competencies

• A Chartered Accountant preferred, or at least Bachelor’s in Business Administration with concentration in Accounting or Finance.
• At least 3 to 4 years work experience in accounting/finance field. Preferably in the development. cooperation field with donor agencies. Experience with DFID projects is an added value.
▪ Experience in the management of material resources (purchase orders, accounting etc)
▪ Experience in management of funds from different donors, preparation of balance sheets and budgets, and accomplishing financial audits.
▪ Ability to interpret financial procedures and standards and their application.
▪ Capacity to work under pressure in an international environment.
▪ Excellent analytical and management skills in addition to being a team player.
▪ Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Nepali.
