Basically, ARSOW – Nepal was established as a forum for sharing ideas and experiences of different development professionals from various disciplines and to contribute on the sustainable development for the use and benefit of the people. It started working in 1992 but formalized In 1993. It is registered in District Administration Office of Kavrepalanchowk district under the Ministry of Home/ His Majesty’s Government

Association for Rural Social Welfare Nepal (ARSOW Nepal), the leading NGO based in Kavre district working in the various sectors i.e. WASH, Public Health, Livelihood, Social Mobilization, and Disaster Risk Management for 22 years. Currently, ARSOW Nepal is seeking qualified, result oriented and self motivated Nepali citizens for the following positions under its Towards linking reconstruction and households’ resilience in Sindhupalchok  Supported by Triangle Génération Humanitaire funded by Fondation de France. The project focuses its intervention on DRR, and Livelihoods in Thanpaldhap, Gunsa,Thanpalkot and Bhotang VDCs of Sindhupalchok district. Candidates meeting mentioned criteria are highly encouraged to apply for the positions.

Livelihood Officer: 1 (Based in Project Office Thanpaldhap, Sindhupalchok)

Duty Station : Project  Office Thanpaldhap

Qualifications/experience required: 

  • Experience of project  management; specially in livelihood aspect,
  • Familiar with livelihood of rural Nepal,
  • Knowledge and/or experience of agro base small enterprise development
  • Excellent analytical skills and a methodical approach to work
  • Excellent written communication skills with clear and concise reporting style
  • Pro-active approach and ability to work unsupervised but also as part of a team
  • Experience of working to tight deadlines and pressure.
  • Good writing skills in English and familiar with basic computer applications,
  • Bachelor Degree in Agriculture or any other related subject.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Support project team to Develop livelihoods activities,
  • Lead Livelihood team to ensure timely delivery of the livelihood related services,
  • Ensure the quality of work of livelihood related activities,
  • Support project team to developing annual project frameworks and work plan,
  • Assist community people to enhance their skills and knowledge on better livelihood,
  • Evaluate GRP livelihood activities results by collecting data about yield, breeding result and income
  • Provide capacity building trainings to local level stakeholders, Social mobilizers
  • Produce periodic reports and other materials as per the need of the project
